Once the challenge results are revealed to the community, community members must update the Newsroom's status in order for it to take effect. Updating a Newsroom's status is not automated because the Network requires Ether (ETH) to process the new status. This means a payment of transaction fee called Gas is required to complete this task. Learn more on gas here.
To update a Newsroom's status, make sure to sign up or log in to your Civil Account and connect your cryptocurrency wallet like MetaMask, and that you have a small amount of ETH. Then:
- Go to the Newsroom's page on the Civil Registry
- Click on the “Resolve Challenge” button located in the “ballot” panel on the right side of the page.
- Click “Confirm With MetaMask” to complete your transaction. This will open a separate window where you will be asked to confirm.
- Once you confirm, a Newsroom's status - whether approved or rejected - should reflect on the Registry. If you don't see the changes immediately, please try refreshing your browser.
Note that this will require paying a transaction fee called Gas, which is paid in Ether (ETH) for your transaction to be processed. Learn more on that here.
